Youth & Children
There are many special activities and services aimed at a range of ages:
The Crèche (0-2yrs)
St. John's Crèche provides a quiet friendly atmosphere where children can be taken during the 9.30am Sunday service. It has 2 CRB-cleared helpers. It provides a variety of activities for children of all ages, from playing with toys, gluing, drawing, stickers and if appropriate reading stories or prayers.
Sparrows (3-6yrs)
These meet in the church hall every Sunday except the first Sunday in the month when we join in the all age service. The children enjoy Bible stories, songs, prayers, activities, fun.
Eagles (7+yrs)
These meet in the Church Hall every Sunday except the first Sunday in the month when we join in the all age service. The children enjoy Bible stories, songs, prayers, activities, fun.
Tiny Tots
This group meets every Tuesday in term time in the Church Hall for playtime and refreshments at 9.30am, followed by a service of action songs and prayers in church, finishing at 11.00am. In summer we hold a picnic in the Church grounds, and in January a party. For babies and little ones under 5.
The Choir
This mixed voice choir offers opportunities for keen singers of all ages to perform music from Britain's renowned choral heritage as well as from more innovative and popular styles. There is an established choral training scheme run by the Royal School of Church Music for those who wish to participate.
Youth Meets AM
Youth Meets AM is for those at Secondary School. It meets alongside the 9.30 Sunday Service (except first Sundays) and follows a theme / topic based course of discussion to discover or deepen faith.
Youth Meets P.M.
This meets mostly at the Vicarage on Sunday evenings for a varied programme of discussions, films, activities and worship. Youth Meets PM is for those of Secondary School age.
